Do you ever find yourself at times where your motivation is missing ? You don’t want to work, do something useful or just lay in bed. But luckily there are many tips on how to motivate yourself. So here’s a list I made for you on how you can motivate yourself and get back on track.
1.Think about your goals and dreams in life
One of the best things you can do to motivate yourself, is to think of your goals.
Think about what would make your life awesome.
It’s important in life that you have goals and dreams that you can pursue.
That way you will always know for what you’re working so much and that in the end it will pay off.
So do yourself a favor and really start thinking about the dreams and goals you have in life.
Write them down.
Research what you need to do for them to accomplish.
Work every single day on your goals.
2.Develop a strong will power
To be able to achieve your goals you’ll need great will power.
A strong will power will help you through tough times.
You will have to train your will power by implementing many things.
Start going to the gym, wake up everyday at 5.30 am or start taking cold showers in the morning.
A good morning routine will help.
These things will all help you to build your will power.
3.Change your environment
If you want to stay motivated you need to change your environment.
Your work environment can drastically change your work ethic.
You need to erase the biggest distractions in your environment.
If you have unhealthy snacks laying at home, throw them away to stick to your diet.
If you find yourself constantly watching the TV. Get him outta here.
Delete distracting apps or turn off your notifications.
4.Set rules for yourself
If you want to stay motivated and stay on track then you need to set some rules first.
This goes hand-in-hand with the 3. tip because you need to set some rules like:
- having a specific amount of time you spend in front of the TV
- having daily tasks that you need to fulfill
- and etc.
By setting strict rules you can’t get distracted so easily and that way you can stay motivated.
Do you know these times where you get a big task and you are completely overwhelmed by it so you don’t try at all ?
The best method against that is called chunking.
By chunking you divide your task or goal in much smaller goals and tasks.
After you accomplished a small goal you feel more motivated and confident that you can achieve the next goal.
So try it out for yourself.
6. Triggering Motivation
Another great trick would be the trick of triggering motivation through a cue.
A cue is a habit, behaviour, item or location that triggers certain feelings.
For example if you got a new haircut, you always feel more confident in the way you look.
Or if you wore a suit everyday to work, you will associate your job with that suit.
Find things like this in your life and use them to motivate yourself then you need it.
There are many ways that you can motivate yourself but the most important part is that the motivation comes from inside.
Figure out what you want out of life and work on it.
